San Diego getaway

My hubby and I finally got a chance to go away for the weekend without our kiddo. It was WONDERFUL!!! We rarely go on trips without our precious little boy so we make the most of it. Relaxation, restaurants, rest, and repeat! It was my birthday weekend and I have to share my top pictures. These are our musts while in San Diego:

1. We always go to Coronado! Miguel's cocina has delicious Mexican food, Hotel Del has a beautiful ocean view, and Moo Time creamery has the best ice cream dessert!!!

Cheers to drinks and mexican food

Yes this is Moo Time Creamery on Coronado Island and yes we shared this!

2. No trip is complete without some cute boutique shopping and getting cute finds in Little Italy!

We went on a walk near Little Italy and came across this shop!

Great finds for women and men

3. We found two new awesome restaurants. They are new to us and these are for sure places that we will come down for monthly. Must hit the gym hard! Isola Pizza Bar is so good (cannot even begin to tell you how good!) and Fabrison's Crêpes are super savory.

Salad and bruschetta at Isola

Close to Naples as we can get, brick oven Margherita pizzas

To top off his dinner he guzzled down a Lavazza espresso

The following morning we had these delicious crepes

4. Beautiful sunsets are a MUST! Having a room on the 16th floor with views of the bay was stunning.

Stunning!
What are some of your favorites in San Diego? I am already planning my next trip and with it I will set aside a solid hour of gym time per day!!

Paris in a Cup

Today (January 11th) I had a blast! I cannot begin to say how much fun I had with my mom and sisters. Beyond thankful that we could spend a Saturday morning enjoying each others company at a very cute Tea house! If you are looking for something girlie to do then this is your place: Paris in a Cup. Located in the city of Orange, CA. Hands down one of my favorites. It is not cheap but then again it is not everyday that you get to sip delicious tea and savor homemade scones!

Le Menu!

Looks so French!

A whole pot of tea just for me! (Each person can choose their own tea, I recommend the new Pineapple & Coconut)

The lovely spread of food! Top: desserts Bottom: cucumber sandwiches, chicken salad, and scones

The four of us!
Totally wish I had a little girl to bring her to fancy tea date! Here is praying and hoping I have a little someday!!!

Toddler room completion!

K's room is almost done! And by almost I mean 95% which can translate to practically done. I have enjoyed collecting items for his room. It all started with one beautiful Serena & Lily anchor quilt!!! I found it and fell in love with it. Then I purchased the map swag from Pottery Barn kids. I scoured everywhere to find the best nautical pictures to add to the room. Attended a craft fair and found the bible verse painted on wood. That's just the beginning and it has been quite the process. I will spare the long details and let the pictures speak for themselves!

The Serena & Lily quilt that started it all (retails for $280), nautical pillow from Ikea

The map swag from Pottery Barn Kids ($98), rope and cleats from West Marine

Love this! Good bye diaper changing station on top of this dresser. Home Goods & Hobby Lobby

Craft fair find and added the net from Hobby Lobby for a nice touch!

Wooden wheel, mirror port hole, wooden treasure box, rope lamp, and all that is left are the drapes!

His big boy room looks fantastic! I don't like cartoon characters as themes for a room and I am quite proud of myself for completing this. I hope to get the drapes up in the next couple of weeks, hoping that adds another nice touch. I also realized that I forgot to post a picture of his wall clock, all right next time. What are some of your favorite themes for bedrooms?

Breaking free!

It has been a very successful 3 and a half weeks for my son. Potty training has been such a smooth transition. I had so many apprehensions when I need to run errands. It felt like I was reliving life with a newborn. I remember when my hubby went back to work and I was by myself with a 5 week old baby. Going to the grocery store or finally going to the mall was a new concept for me. I was petrified of having to nurse in public (even with a cover) and then I did not want a diaper blow out. Oh those were the days!

Now fast forward more than two years and I am scared of my son having an accident in the middle of the grocery store or worse at the mall. I have no fears because he is doing such a great job. I make sure he goes to the bathroom before we leave the house and I offer little liquids while we are out. (Public bathrooms worry me!!!) He is a pro! When your child is ready you will know, the transition out of diapers goes smoothly when your child is ready. We have gone cold turkey but we all knew it was time!

Also my son is a reader and no bathroom visit cannot be complete without some good reading material.
